Steps to Stability 5K

Steps to Stability 5K is a community event hosted by The Gathering Place, bringing people together to walk, run, and show support for women, gender-diverse individuals, and their children working toward stability. Through our home, health, purpose, and community programs, The Gathering Place provides low-barrier, trauma-informed support for those seeking refuge from homelessness and instability.

Following the success of our inaugural Steps to Stability Hybrid 5K, we are excited to host the 2nd Annual Steps to Stability in June 2026. This event invites our community to come together in support of pathways to stability while raising awareness and resources for the individuals and families we serve.

Last year, participants showed up in incredible ways—walking, running, and cheering together to support our mission. The event raised essential funds and helped shine a light on the importance of safe, welcoming spaces and access to critical services for women, gender-diverse people, and children in our community.

This year’s event will feature opportunities for participants to connect, celebrate community impact, and learn more about the work of The Gathering Place and our partners who share a commitment to compassion, equity, and stability.

Whether you join us as a runner, walker, volunteer, or supporter, your participation helps sustain programs that provide essential resources, recovery support, and pathways to long-term stability.

Art of Hope- 40th Anniversary Celebration

In 2026, The Gathering Place will celebrate 40 years of providing safety, support, and hope to women, gender-expansive people, and their children experiencing poverty and homelessness in Denver.

To honor this milestone, we are hosting a special anniversary celebration: The Art of Hope: 40 Years of Gathering — an evening dedicated to community, creativity, and impact.

This unforgettable event will bring together 250 community members, partners, artists, and advocates for a night of:

  • Curated hors d’oeuvres and beverages

  • Art exhibition

  • Silent auction featuring art and more

  • Stories of resilience, hope, and community

  • Opportunities to invest in lasting stability for our neighbors

For four decades, we have opened our doors to thousands of community members seeking immediate needs and long-term pathways to stability. As our city faces rising housing costs and increasing economic uncertainty, this moment calls us not only to celebrate — but to recommit.

The Art of Hope will raise critical funds to ensure we can continue providing resources, safety, and opportunity for as long as our community needs us.

Be Part of the Celebration
