From Pueblo to Boulder and Beyond: Dulce Valenzuela Leads with Love and Compassion

Deeply rooted in her hometown of Pueblo, Dulce carries the strength, generosity, and resilience of her family and community into every space she enters. She is a first-generation Latina student at the University of Colorado Boulder, double majoring in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology and women and gender studies. She also is minoring in sociology, public health, and biochemistry.

At CU Boulder and beyond, Dulce advocates for health equity, reproductive justice, disability access, and LGBTQ+ communities. Whether lobbying in Washington, D.C., building more inclusive spaces on campus, working to expand visibility to Hispanic women in her hometown, or helping care for her family following her father’s disability; Dulce leads with compassion and purpose. She hopes to build a career in public health and policy while remaining grounded in and giving back to the Colorado community that shaped her.
