This spring, The Women’s Foundation of Colorado asked 725 Colorado women and gender-expansive voters including an oversample of women of color to tell us what it takes to get ahead today. Their answer was clear. Eighty-four percent told us the cost of living is rising faster than their income, and that share was even higher for Black and LGBTQ+ women. Seventy-six percent made hard financial choices in the past year, and 69% faced barriers to health care. Nearly nine in ten worry about their personal safety. On nearly every material measure, from money and jobs to caregiving, health and safety, women told us they fare worse than men. Read more about election results and what it means for women HERE.
